The Ennis EDC is actively working to enhance development in five primary areas: Industrial, Downtown, Retail, Residential and Workforce Development.
The EDC receives revenues in excess of $1,700,000 annually as a result of the Type B (1/2 cent) city sales tax. The 4B sales tax for economic development is a very popular and effective tool used by the City of Ennis for economic development. The sales tax proceeds may be spent for economic development "projects" including land, buildings, equipment, targeted infrastructure, facilities and improvements to promote new and expanded business development, facilities to promote primary job creation and retention, facilities to promote tourism and for the promotion of manufacturing and industrial facilities.
We believe that every resident should have the opportunity to maximize their economic potential. Our ultimate purpose is to enhance the quality of life within our community and to promote continuous economic development for the City.
