The Ennis EDC is actively working to enhance development in five primary areas: Industrial, Downtown, Retail, Residential and Workforce Development. Our staff is ready and waiting to help you begin your project here in Ennis or grow as an already existing company in our community.
The EDC Board of Directors and the Ennis City Commission oversee the ½ cent 4B sales tax monies. There are seven (7) Directors who are appointed by a majority vote of the City Commission at an open meeting. The Directors must be residents of the City of Ennis and no more than two (2) of the Directors may be officers or employees of the City of Ennis. The EEDC has the power to designate how the monies collected from the ½ cent 4B sales tax are to be spent as authorized by the Development Corporation Act. (Chapter 380 of Local Government Code, Development Corporation Act, V.T.C.S. Article 5190.6, Section 2[11][A].
